The LED Studio - Building the Volumes

Our team have two LED spaces available: LED Theatre 2 and LED Studio.

LED Theatre 2 has been mainly used for multicamera interviews, call broadcasting and straight forward filming. There is a main screen and two wings. The main screen is 6 metres wide x 4 metres high (1536 x 1024 pixels). Each side screen is 3 Metres x 3 metres (768 x 768 pixels).

The video below shows a time lapse construction of the Theatre 2 LED screens and then the test pattern to demonstrate the configuration.

The LED Studio has been established for films and TV commercials where lighting and convenience are paramount. The working area inside the LED panels is around 12 metres wide and 6 to 8 metres deep. The main front screen is 11.5 metres wide x 5 metres high (4k image - 3840 x 1728 pixels). Two side panels are 5 metres wide x 4 metres high (1280 x 1024 pixels). The two back screens are independent and mobile, each 3.5 metres wide and 4 metres high (896 x 768 pixels). A ceiling panel of 3 metres wide x 4 metres deep (1024 x 768 pixels) is mounted on a slight angle above the working area to provide optimum lighting over the working area.

Utilising all the panels eliminated the need for green screens, provides natural lighting and reflections and significantly reduces post produciton processing.

The video below shows an early version of the LED Studio panel layout.
